Price-Pfister facuet giveaway

Sage & Savvy have an amazing giveaway which includes a Price-Pfister faucet. We have been wanting to upgrade our faucets but unsure of where to go. Check out all their wonderful designs. And if you want to try to win one, visit Sage & Savvy.

Things didn't go as planned

This week, I thought I would go ahead and still do reading and math instruction. We typically work Tues-Sat and I knew we would take Christmas Day off. However, last night at dinner at mom's house, Royalty decided to become quite sick and puked all over my sister. It was hilarious to watch her jump, however, my poor baby is just not feeling well. The last time he threw up was 8am, but he still feels quite nauseous. I hope it passes soon, but until then, no school/homework.

My sister is here

Finally, my sister made it. She and her husband drove all the way from Oklahoma to Northern Nevada over the last few days. She says it is about 26 hours of straight driving, but they decided to stop at a few locations along the way. So now they are here and me and my brood are on our way to my mom's house where we will all have a nice dinner.

In the meantime, I had 1 wonderful postpartum visit. I just love newborns and their innocence. Then I had a 32 week home visit with one of my clients. It was great. Her son is friends with my boys so they had a play date while we did the prenatal.

Anyways, off to see the family.

Day 6 of Fashionable Housewife's Giveway is a Kooba Handbag. Talk about FASHIONABLE! Check out her giveaway and enter if you love it like I do, then check out Kooba's website for more pretties (sorry we just watched Lord of the Rings).

Fashionable Housewife is at it again

She has another wonderful contest. This one is by far my favorite. I love the Cuddle Cape from XCVI www.xcvi.com. Check out Day 5 of the 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway and see what I am hoping to win.

Another Contest

As I mentioned earlier, Fashionable Housewife has a wonderful giveaway going on, 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway. Day 3 is a beautiful Danielle Nicole Leather Handbag. Please check it out http://www.thefashionablehousewife.com/12/2009/day-3-danielle-nicole-leather-handbag/ and don't forget to stop by www.danielle-nicole.com to look at all the fabulous stuff they have.

Done for the night

Today I made a triple batch of Curried Pumpkin Mushroom Soup (yummy), pureed about 20 cups of pumpkin, and separated out large quantities of meat into smaller package sizes to freeze. After that was done, we took the kiddos out to look at Christmas lights in the one neighborhood in town who has an annual contest. We could never find the #1 rated house, but we had a great time. I love listening to my little one as he ooohs and aaaahs.

Quite the week

I didn't get the amount of time on each homeschool subject I had wanted to do this week. However, it was still a great week. My oldest son whom I will call Royalty, has decided that when he reads his first chapter book, he wants to celebrate with a reading party.

This party will include stringing word cards throughout the house instead of streamers, a cake shaped like a book, a pinata filled with notebooks and pencils and a game of pin the dot on the question mark. He came up with this all on his own and has set up a goal of this summer. I think he just may be able to do it.

In other news, DH won a $200 gift card to a local mall. We can use this on anything there including the restaurants and movie theater...I see lots of date nights ahead for us. My name was also chosen from a different mall to win a $150 gift card to Tommy Hilfiger. This has just been a great win week.

Finally, I attended a beautiful homebirth. Much smoother and quicker than her first baby (as is usually the case), and healing in many ways. I feel so blessed to have been there.

Now I am off to puree pumpkins.

Awesome Contest

The Fashionable Housewife has an amazing contest for the 12 days of Christmas. She is pairing up with www.HP.com to give away an HP Envy 13. Check it out (sorry I can't figure how to name the link right now to shorten it) http://www.thefashionablehousewife.com/12/2009/day-12-hp-envy-13-laptop-with-windows-7/

It only took him 1 hour past "freezing" to get out of the tub

Talk about "Just Do It"

My 5yo ds is sitting in a cold bathtub. It started off as a warm bath, but has since cooled down a lot. He won't get out because he will be cold, but the longer he stays in the colder he also gets. He just doesn't understand that if he gets out, his momentary "coldness" will be replaced with warmth once he dries off...silly kid.

I did it!

I did everything I was supposed to do yesterday. I also completed everything today as well. Procrastinated phone calls, laundry, dinner, all subjects of home school. I even called a friend and got together for a playdate. I feel pretty good right now. This may just be the honeymoon phase. But if I could keep this up long enough, some of this will become habit.

Here it goes

I find myself to be a lazy person. I at least know my flaw, now I need to do something about it. I am the type of person who becomes obsessed with a certain subject or activity and then spends all my time engrossed in it while I ignore everything else in my life. I need discipline. I need to not only learn how to organize my daily mundane (and not so mundane) activities, but also actually do them.

My day is full of "put-off" ideas:
"I could get out of bed now, but, it does feel good to be in bed and the kids have fed themselves. The house and chores will still be there if I stay in bed just a little longer." I put-off getting out of bed until 9am on some mornings.

"I could work on math with my son now, but, if we just happen to skip it today, the problem will still be there tomorrow and missing one day of math will not doom him to a life of minimum wage jobs." I could use this excuse and miss entire weeks of math study.

The excuses or "put-offs" get worse. I am hoping daily writing will develop some discipline for me to get everything else done. We will see how disciplined I am tomorrow.
